Why is Transit Dance the best place for aspiring dancers to train?
“Transit Dance offers an industry-driven, immersive environment where aspiring dancers don’t just train, they evolve into professional artists. We pride ourselves on the expertise of our faculty offering thoughtful and purposeful training concepts. Transit ensures students are constantly challenged, supported, and inspired. Our programs are designed to reflect real-world demands, making graduates uniquely prepared to step into professional work.”

What sets Transit Dance apart from other full-time dance institutions?
“Transit Dance is built by artists, for artists. We are all active participants in the Performing Arts industry and utilise Transit Dance as a vehicle to make the industry as a whole greater and more sustainable. We are a performance based institution, meaning that our students are consistently working towards performance outcomes. We keep our class sizes small so that we can serve all of our students individual needs and desires. We want our graduates to enter the industry with a strong sense of identity and purpose.”

How do Transit’s performance opportunities give students an edge in the industry?
”At Transit, performance isn't just about the outcome, but the process, the journey and the sustainability of making and learning new material, it's at the core of everything we do. Students work in professional environments, rehearsing and performing original and repertoire works by leading creatives across four seasons each year. These high-calibre experiences fast-track students’ readiness for the demands of the stage and build confidence, professionalism, and adaptability. These qualities are evident within our graduates and employers notice them immediately.”

How does Transit Dance ensure every student gets personalised training and career support?

“We pride ourselves on offering tailored, individualised mentorship. Class sizes are intentionally kept small to allow faculty to provide detailed, constructive feedback and meaningful connections with each student. Our faculty are more than just teachers, they are active mentors and industry professionals who invest personally in each dancer’s development, both artistically and professionally. Career support is woven throughout the program, including regular one-on-one mentoring sessions, audition preparation workshops, and portfolio development. At Transit, we support the launch of sustainable careers in performance, choreography, teaching, and beyond.”

What qualities do you look for in a student, and who thrives in Transit’s programs?
”We look for passion, openness, and a relentless drive to grow. Technique is important, but so is curiosity, work ethic, and a willingness to explore artistry. The students who thrive at Transit are those who are eager to be challenged, collaborative in spirit, and committed to their journey both as dancers and as people.”

What makes Transit Dance’s training environment unique, both in and out of the studio?
”There’s a strong sense of community at Transit, one that values individuality, creativity, and mutual respect. In the studio, students are pushed technically and artistically by teachers who genuinely care. Outside the studio, they’re surrounded by like-minded artists who lift each other up. This combination creates a safe yet rigorous space where deep personal and professional growth happens daily.”

How does Transit Dance prepare students for long-term success in the industry?
“Our programs are built around sustainability and adaptability. Students graduate not only with performance experience, but also with a deep understanding of the industry, from self-promotion to networking, creative development to audition skills. We prepare artists to thrive in freelance, company, commercial, or teaching environments, ensuring they leave with the tools to shape their own unique path.”
